Start from the village square. Head for the Saint-Sébastien district as you leave the village on the RD 2566 road towards Sospel. Cross the Roubine bridge over the Peira-Cava river, then shortly afterwards, on the left of the road, take a wide, stony path (marker 20) that leads to the Chapelle Saint-Sébastien. Take the narrow path on your left and cross the Mouravi bridge. This takes you into the central area of the Mercantour National Park. Continue along this path to marker 21, then turn right in the direction of Sospel. Cross the old Barma bridge, covered in moss and ivy, and follow the yellow markers. The path climbs upwards, offering remarkable views of Mont Simon, the village of Moulinet and the site of the Notre-Dame de la Menour chapel. A good excuse for a short break!
Continue along the ridge through boxwood, thyme, lavender and broom to marker 24. Turn left towards l'Avanquet behind a small hillock. On this new slope (vallon de la Bouissièra), the undergrowth is very pleasant, with the ridges of Déa, Tuèis, Turini and Calmette in front of you. Keep going until you reach the turn-off marked by a tree across the path with Moulinet signposted on it (left below). Immediately afterwards, cross the torrent to join the path on the other side of the bank.
After a few hundred metres, descend to the left through the ruins of Avenquet, between 2 crumbling stone walls. Cross the Gouargas bridge and follow the river until you come to an old oak tree and a house. Continue downhill to the left of the house to find marker 21 and the original route to Moulinet.
